OK I am being really lazy tonight because I do not want to give my own summary of this movie. I watched it actually kind of awhile ago but totatlly forgot to write my feelings about it. I loved it. Didn't go in with high expectations and you have to remember it is an action super hero like movie. With that being said, it was fun, the casting was great, the fighting was well done, and I was totally surprised with how much I liked it. Jeffery Dean Morgan...need I say more. OK I will, Zoe Saldana and Chris Evans are always good actors to watch. The chemistry meshed well. The story was good versus bad but there were a few spins. So I say, watch it. Men will love the fighting and women you will love Jeffery Dean Morgan. Good fun movie.

Crazy Heart
This story is about a man (Jeff Bridges) who is a dead beat country singer, meets a woman whom he falls in love with, tries to make their relationship work while living in seperate states, but when he is not "paying attention" and loses her son in a mall she decides he is a drunk and cannot be trusted. Oscar worthy....uhhhhh, no. The story was predictable and although I like Jeff Bridges it kind of creeped me out when he and Maggie Gyllenhal's character got together. I felt Bridges performance was well done but again, the story falls flat. Gyllenhal just didn't show me anything new (really have only liked her in the one movie with Will Ferrell) and Collin Farrell as a country artist, mmmmmm no that one didn't work out too well. Dissapointing. I say, pass on this unless there is nothing else you want to watch.

Catching up...
So I have been really lazy about posting to the movies I have recently watched. I guess I wouldn't say it is a much laziness as it is just lack of time. So the following movies I have watched in the past two weeks: Everybody's Fine, My Sister's Keeper, and Men Who Stare at Goats.
Everybody's fine had a great cast starring Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell are the main actors I know. The acting was well played and definently helped move the story along. Sometimes I got irritated with the plot and the story feeling like it was just not realistic. I say...watch it and if your expectations are not high you will enjoy it.
My Sister's Keeper; I read this book so I really didn't know what to expect considering most books made into movies are just not good enough. I was put off at first by the way the movie was narrated and kind of put into chapters of each character (which is how the book is but not sure how well that would translate into film.) After getting use to the narration I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. One main character was left out (that I can think of off the top of my head) but it worked. I was also pleasantly surprised by the acting (Cameron Diaz is not one of my favorite actress' and I really did not see her as a believable warrior mother but she was good.) Abigail Breslin is always a lovable actor and Sofia Vassilieva was mostly good (had some difficulty with portraying herself as the older sister) but really made you feel her emotional turmoil. I say...a movie to definently watch.
Men Who Stare at Goats is a movie I really didn't know what to expect. I mean really though with such a great cast and an unusual story I had to see it. Love George Clooney and Ewan McGregor. Also great actors in the movie are Kevin Spacey, and Jeff Bridges. Sometimes the story became a little slow and I was waiting for something a little more interesting to happen but such a strange movie that I loved it. Who doesn't love Ewan? He is always so easy to fall in love with in every movie he does. I say...If you like unusual stories watch this movie, however, if you don't like something different then it may be a little slow and boring for you.
I wish I could really focus on each of these movies and give a better critque but with limited time and a baby crying I tend to lose my concentration. I will try to be better to write about the movie right after I watch it.

My First Post
Welcome to a new blog I decided to write, "Whatcha Mama Watchin'?" I wanted to find something to talk about(even if no one listens)that I enjoy. Too many times do I feel like my voice goes unheard each day, whether it is my 2 year old son who decides he doesn't want to listen to a thing I say or my husband who despite all his efforts he "forgets" to do the things I ask him. Unfortunately (or fortunately for you) I do not like to let my personal thoughts wander onto paper for all to see. That is why my childhood dream of becoming a writer could never come true...its just to personal. So, another love I have is to watch movies. I love all genres. I never discriminate. I love the emotions they can pull from you. I love the music, I love the cinematography, I love the acting, and I love the stories. I could watch movies everyday and everynight. When all these components are meshed together harmoniously (don't know if that is spelled right) a beautiful movie erupts and the feeling of losing yourself to this thrills me. Now I felt a need if not for anyone else mostly for myself to tell you about the movies that I am watching. I have always loved critiquing movies and with this blog I want to share my feelings about what I have watched. Whether you decide to take my advice and see the movie or not is up to you. I must expose to you that the only qualifications I have for critiquing movies is once I saw an interview with Roger Ebert and noticed that while watching movies he had a notepad and pen with him and would jot down notes during a screening. Maybe I will have to give that try!
